Tidings of Comfort and Joy (Merry Christmas)

We wanted to take the time to wish all of our friends & fans a Merry Christmas personally but with so many of you all out there it didn't seem like such a good idea. So instead, we got creative and took the time to create a message of Holiday Cheer with you the best way we knew how. . . by making a video:

Feliz Navidad from The Aimless & Andy Show on Vimeo.

We hope you enjoy your holiday season and look forward to sharing 2012 with you our friends, fans, families and followers.

All the best,

Andru

Wake Up Winnipeg - The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Rolls Through Winnipeg

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Rolls Through Winnipeg
By Andru Valpy

On Wake Up Winnipeg episode 103 we woke you up to a tradition that's been gaining momentum around North America for the last 13 years. The Canadian Pacific Railroad Holiday Train rolled through Winnipeg at 9:00 pm on December the 3rd in support of local food banks.

In total, up to 150 communities, large and small will experience the spirit of giving that the Holiday Train program.   Since 1999 CP’s Holiday Train has raised $5.6 million and 2.5 million pounds food. Donating to local food banks benefits your neighbours and community. The results of a recent Food Banks Canada survey found food bank use has gone up 26 per cent between 2006 and 2011.

Moments before the festivities began we had the opportunity to check out the holiday train as it pulled through Highway 59. Here's just a sampling of our photographs:

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Rebroadcast: 12/07/2011 on CJUM 101.5 UMFM - 6:30 AM

This week we were in the Christmas spirit and our show reflected our feelings.

We started it off with an interview on the Canadian Pacific Rail Road Holiday Train that was scheduled to roll its way through Winnipeg. The trains visit promotes community spirit as it moves to support Winnipeg Harvest by means of financial and physical donations.

We also chatted with Nathan Terin about the Be:Cause industries downtown underground event.

We played two tracks on this weeks show:

1) Matchbook Romance - I'll be Home for Christmas
2) Michael Menert - ...Into your dreams.
